Battersea Dogs Home

Battersea Dogs Home is probably the most famous animal rescue centre in the world and has been rescuing lost and unwanted dogs and animals for over 140 years.

It was first set up to care for stray dogs and puppies on a temporary site in 1860 by Mrs Mary Tealby. It moved to Battersea in 1871.

The Home has also been taking in stray and unwanted cats since 1883 and continues to rescue and rehome cats and kittens in large numbers.

There is also a café and pet shop on the site.
