St. Etheldreda's Church

Built in 1251, St. Etheldreda's is the oldest Roman Catholic church in Britain and was the first pre-Reformation church in Great Britain to be restored to Catholic worship. Built as a private chapel attached to the palace of the Bishop of Ely, the church is the only surviving work of the reign of Edward I (1239-1307 in London.
