Science Museum

The Science Museum collections form an enduring record of scientific, technological and medical change since the eighteenth century. Though rich in British material, they result from worldwide acquisition.

The outstanding collections at the Science Museum form an unparalleled record of mankind's greatest inventions and achievements. There are nearly one thousand working exhibits and you can carry out your very own experiments in the "Launch Pad", the interactive gallery for children of all ages.

The museum is housed in an impressive building that was completed in 1928 and added to in the 1960s. The collections, which now include the Apollo 10 space capsule, Puffing Billy – the world’s first locomotive, and George Stephenson’s Rocket.
