William Morris Gallery

The William Morris gallery is the world's only museum dedicated to the life and works of William Morris (1834-1896) the renowned nineteenth century English designer, craftsman, writer and socialist.

The gallery is located in the grounds of Lloyd Park in The Water House, a Grade II* listed Georgian building which was home to Morris and his family between 1848 and 1856.

First opened as a gallery in the 1950s, today the house illustrates the story of Morris' life and works displaying examples of his wallpapers, textiles, furniture, stained glass, and ceramics together with a collection of Pre-Raphaelite paintings and works by the Arts and Crafts Movement which Morris inspired.
